Publications Proposal

The Program in Islamic Law maintains three publications for which it actively seeks submissions:

  • The SHARIAsource portal developed and maintained by Harvard Law School's Program in Islamic Law accepts proposals for primary source materials and collections. The SHARIAsource database aims to provide comprehensive content and context on Islamic law. Submissions should be accompanied by a short proposal that details the materials and/or collections, as well as sample documents for our review.
  • The Islamic Law Blog which features short thought-piece commentary and roundups on Islamic law topics. Submissions should be accompanied by a short proposal that details your topic of interest.
  • The Journal of Islamic Law, which accepts submission types including peer-reviewed articles and essays, student notes, case briefs, book reviews, and data science tool reviews. All materials must meet the detailed criteria and be submitted via the Journal website.

Proposals for SHARIAsource and the Islamic Law Blog must be submitted via this form; for the Journal of Islamic Law, you must register and submit via the Journal website.

All proposals will be given due consideration and a Program staff member will be in touch with a final decision and further instructions.

Questions can be sent to pil@law.harvard.edu.
